Close monitoring for CRS and ICANS is required throughout the treatment course. Additionally, pre-existing neurological comorbidities may be a risk factor for the development of ICANS. Therefore, the patients should be evaluated before CAR-T therapy to rule out pre-existing neurological abnormalities. This interview took place during the 3rd European CAR T-cell Meeting.

Cytopenias post-CAR T-cell therapy https://mirror.vjregenmed.com/video/a9rlltqnl6s-cytopenias-post-car-t-cell-therapy/ Fri, 26 Feb 2021 14:08:26 +0000 http://13.40.107.223/video/a9rlltqnl6s-cytopenias-post-car-t-cell-therapy/ Ibrahim Yakoub-Agha, MD, PhD, Lille University Hospital, Lille, France, discusses novel insights into the pathophysiology of cytopenias post-CAR T-cell therapy. Prof. Yakoub-Agha highlights some of the mechanisms of prolonged cytopenias, such as pre-existing poor marrow reserve, observed in heavily pre-treated patients, pre-existing myelodysplastic syndromes, and changes in SDF-1. The relation between high-grade cytokine-release syndrome (CRS) and prolonged cytopenias is also debated. This interview took place during the 3rd European CAR T-cell Meeting.
