He underlines the combined efforts from industry and academia to improve access to the tumor microenvironment, control different cell types and gain better access into the tumor without causing harm to patients. A wide range of strategies are currently being investigated to address these obstacles which include the use of different vectors and cell types, as well as adjuvant approaches. This interview took place at the Advanced Therapies Congress & Expo 2021.

Multiplex gene silencing for the development of allogeneic cell therapies https://mirror.vjregenmed.com/video/alcsttllvh0-multiplex-gene-silencing-for-the-development-of-allogeneic-cell-therapies/ Wed, 20 Oct 2021 17:41:43 +0000 http://13.40.107.223/video/alcsttllvh0-multiplex-gene-silencing-for-the-development-of-allogeneic-cell-therapies/ Sven Kili, MD, Antion Biosciences SA, Geneva, Switzerland, describes the miCAR gene construct, a novel multiplex cell engineering platform that allows gene silencing of up to six selected target genes alongside the simultaneous expression of a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) construct, in a single transduction step. This technology is currently being utilized for the development of a range of next-generation allogeneic gene-modified cell therapies for both solid and liquid tumors, as well as other disease indications. Recent data has demonstrated the ability to silence six different constructs to the same efficacy as a single construct and the constructs are currently being evaluated in preclinical animal models. This interview took place at the Advanced Therapies Congress & Expo 2021.

Autologous vs allogeneic therapy: how will this space evolve? https://mirror.vjregenmed.com/video/_ps5dqu7cxk-autologous-vs-allogeneic-therapy-how-will-this-space-evolve/ Wed, 13 Oct 2021 17:11:14 +0000 http://13.40.107.223/video/_ps5dqu7cxk-autologous-vs-allogeneic-therapy-how-will-this-space-evolve/ Sven Kili, MD, Antion Biosciences SA, Geneva, Switzerland, provides an overview of the current landscape of autologous and allogeneic cell therapies. Whilst autologous approaches hold potential in delivering personalized therapies for small patient cohorts and rare diseases, allogeneic therapies are expected to become increasingly used in more common indications with larger patient cohorts. Nevertheless, there are still a number of remaining scientific challenges that need to be addressed in order to make large-scale allogeneic approaches a reality, including issues around cell expansion, banking and release criteria. This interview took place at the Advanced Therapies Congress & Expo 2021.
